How Can Two Northerners Be Making Decisions And A Southerner Will Be Just An Adviser – Wike Blows Hot – The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has reacted to the recent developments at the National Executive Council of the PDP following the resignation of the Board of Trustees Chairman (BoT), Walid Jibrin and the vote of confidence passed on the National Chairman of the Party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.



Wike, who spoke during the inauguration of the Ahoada Campus of Rivers State University on Thursday, said he was not concerned with Jibrin’s resignation. According to him, the BoT is just advisory and not a decision-making body, so, giving the position to southerners will be to insult them.

He queried thus: “Who’s talking about Chairman of BoT? What is the role of BoT, just advisory? Not a decision-making body. The presidential candidate of the party and the chairman are those who will sit to take decisions. The presidential candidate and chairman of the party are from the North. How can we be here, the chairman and presidential candidate will meet, they will take a decision, and nobody represents us. You think it’s Wike. It is you”.

Wike went on to allege that Atiku and Ayu are arrogant because they believe someone in the Presidency is backing them. He said he will reveal the identity of the person at the appropriate time.

Police shoot live bullets, teargas as EFCC finally arrests Okorocha By Otong Elijah, Lagos. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has finally arrested former Imo State governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, Rochas Okorocha. Okorocha was arrested Tuesday evening at his Maitama home in Abuja by the anti-graft agency and men of the Nigerian Police force. Though the security operatives met stiff resistance from the supporters of the former governor, live bullets and tear gas were fired before he could be arrested. His aides said the EFCC and policemen broke into the house and damaged parts of it and some items in the house while trying to forcibly arrest the former governor. EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement said the move followed the refusal of the former governor to honour invitations after jumping the administrative bail earlier granted him by the Commission. The ward chairman Of APC Commits Suicide

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ponyan Ward in the Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, Bunmi Ipinnaiye, has reportedly committed suicide in a Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) cell.   Ipinnaiye was arrested by men of the NSCDC for the attempted murder of his son who he allegedly attacked with a machete while on their way to the farm.   The deceased had reportedly attacked his son for fraternising with some boys who were allegedly involved in social vices.   He was arrested following the attack and was found dead in his cell this morning, June 7.   He reportedly used his belt to hang himself.   The body of the deceased was found by NSCDC operatives who went into his cell to interrogate him.
