The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ponyan Ward in the Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, Bunmi Ipinnaiye, has reportedly committed suicide in a Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) cell.   Ipinnaiye was arrested by men of the NSCDC for the attempted murder of his son who he allegedly attacked with a machete while on their way to the farm.   The deceased had reportedly attacked his son for fraternising with some boys who were allegedly involved in social vices.   He was arrested following the attack and was found dead in his cell this morning, June 7.   He reportedly used his belt to hang himself.   The body of the deceased was found by NSCDC operatives who went into his cell to interrogate him.

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has condoled with the people of Ondo State following the killing of worshippers at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, including women and children. Suspected terrorists had attacked St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, the headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State. It was also gathered that many worshippers died and several others were left injured following the incident at the church which is situated close to the palace of the Olowo of Owo. Police shoot live bullets, teargas as EFCC finally arrests Okorocha By Otong Elijah, Lagos. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has finally arrested former Imo State governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, Rochas Okorocha. Okorocha was arrested Tuesday evening at his Maitama home in Abuja by the anti-graft agency and men of the Nigerian Police force. Though the security operatives met stiff resistance from the supporters of the former governor, live bullets and tear gas were fired before he could be arrested. His aides said the EFCC and policemen broke into the house and damaged parts of it and some items in the house while trying to forcibly arrest the former governor. EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement said the move followed the refusal of the former governor to honour invitations after jumping the administrative bail earlier granted him by the Commission. Muslim mob allegedly kills pastor, razes his house, church, mission school in Kano village

A pastor identified as Reverend Yohanna Shuaibu has been allegedly murdered by a Muslim mob in Massu, a village in Sumaila Local Government Area of Kano State.   It was gathered that the mob also burnt down the slain pastor's house, church and mission school.    A statement by Hausa Christian Foundation (HACFO) said the incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, September 23, a few days after a young Muslim man who converted to Christianity allegedly killed his brother's wife during a fight.    The slain pastor was until his alleged murder, the Northeastern Evangelist of New life Church and the CAN chairman in Sumaila.
