The ward chairman Of APC Commits Suicide
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ponyan Ward in the Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, Bunmi Ipinnaiye, has reportedly committed suicide in a Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) cell. Ipinnaiye was arrested by men of the NSCDC for the attempted murder of his son who he allegedly attacked with a machete while on their way to the farm. The deceased had reportedly attacked his son for fraternising with some boys who were allegedly involved in social vices. He was arrested following the attack and was found dead in his cell this morning, June 7. He reportedly used his belt to hang himself. The body of the deceased was found by NSCDC operatives who went into his cell to interrogate him.

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has condoled with the people of Ondo State following the killing of worshippers at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, including women and children. Suspected terrorists had attacked St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, the headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State. It was also gathered that many worshippers died and several others were left injured following the incident at the church which is situated close to the palace of the Olowo of Owo.
